Host Persons or animal that provides subsistence or lodgement to an infectious agent as called as host. Types of Host 1. Obligate host/ only host : an host which survive only one place. eg. Man for measles. 2. Primary host/ definitive host : when parasites passes it's sexual phase. eg. Mosquito for malaria parasites. 3. Secondary host/ intermediate host : when the parasites passes it's asexual life. eg. Man for malarial parasites.

Infestation Presence of macro-organism or arthropods on the body surface of man or animals or inanimate objects and it's development or reproduction is called as infestation.                                      Or Invasion of parasites into the gut (intestine) is called as infestation.

Contamination Presence of any infectious agent on the body surface of inanimate ( non living ) objects or living body called contamination.

Infection Infection is the invasion/entry of a microorganisms/ infectious agent in the body of man or animals and it's development and multiplication, called as infection. Types of infection 1. Clinical Infection/ apparent infection/ manifest infection :  Microorganisms present in the body. Microorganisms also create any problem in the body. This type infection also diagnosed at the level of laboratory. 2. Subclinical Infection/ inapparent infection : Microorganisms present in the body. But Microorganisms not create any problem in the body. This type infection also diagnosed at level of laboratory. (eg. Polio ) 3. Latent infection : unable Antibody in body or Antibody formation not  starts till now. (eg. Virus of herpes simplex ) Microorganisms present in the body. Infectious agent not create any problem.
