Loss of speech or Aphasia
Aphasia is defined as the loss or impairment of speech due to the brain damage. It is an acquired disorder and it is distinct from developmental disorder of speech.Aphasia is not due to the paralysis of muscles of articulation.
Cause
Damage to the speech centers, which are situated in cerebral cortex.Reasons of the damage of speech center
- Stroke
- Head injury
- Cerebral tumors
- Brain infections
