Irregular emphysema

Irregular or paracicatricial emphysema

This is the most common form of emphysema, seen surrounding scars from any tissue. Involvement is irregular that is portion of acinus or may be whole lungs. During life irregular emphysema is often asymptomatic and may be finding accidentally in autopsy of lungs.
